BEL Project: It's Your Linux. Welcome To BEL Project!
Testimonials: We are proud to post some letters from business users of BEL Servers. They give a nice "picture" of the ways BEL Servers can be implemented in production environments.
Please feel free to email us a testimonial of your own telling us how BEL Solutions are used in your business.
BEL Project FAQ
Before you check anything else, before you ask in the forums or ask on the IRC channel, have you looked to see if the answer is already on the FAQ? If the answer is not in the FAQ, the next place to look is in the BEL Education Center.
We know that everyone likes immediate gratification and most folks are prone to thinking they can get a quicker answer by just popping in and asking. Check these sources first anyway. A lot of work is going into providing answers to issues that arise often. If the answer you find in these locations isn't adequate or appropriate to your question, please feel free to come and ask in the forums or IRC.
Don't be angry if someone asks you if you checked the Wiki first. We tried to tell you.
Status of BEL Project
Two words..."Usability" and "fun".
That's what BEL Project is about. First and foremost, Linux and FOSS should be usable. no Excuses, no goofy workarounds or half measures. It should get things done and get them done the way they should be. We want to help you find the ways to do that just the same way we are doing those things ourselves.
When we talk about fun, we mean that working with any operating system or software should not be a headache or a regret. It shouldn't feel like a chore just to turn the computer on or feel some level of fear when the power button is pressed. We want people to be able to use the computer (with Linux and FOSS of course) and feel confident, relaxed and even enjoy the experience.
On this wiki, we will offer How To documents, taking you step by step through the process of setting up desktops and servers that are both usable and secure.
We will walk you through implementing software and apps that can help your environment be more productive.
We want to empower you so that you can take full advantage of the same technology that others pay thousands of dollars for.

BEL Education Center
Every Linux admin needs to have tools. These can consist of your screwdrivers and testing lights and fancy wriing connectors. More-so than these though, is information, resources that arm the Linux admin with what to do, how to do it and maybe even why they're doing it.
We place all the information we will find and write ourselves in our Education Center.
Links to books, How To's and anything else we can find to help provide the Linux admin with as many tools as possible.
Linux Admin: Education for the self taught admin
